With over 15 years of teaching experience, I, Jocelyn McIntyre, am deeply committed to shaping young minds and fostering academic growth. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Mercy College, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as an educator.
My journey began at the Cook Center, a school catering to children with diverse learning needs. Specializing in reading and math intervention, I honed my skills in providing tailored education that meets each student's unique needs. Utilizing Orton-Gillingham based programs, I ensure a structured and multisensory approach to learning, particularly in literacy development.
Transitioning to public school, I continued to make an impact by teaching literacy and math, employing real-world mathematical approaches to enhance problem-solving skills. Equipped with certifications in various programs including The Wilson Fundations program and Teachers College writing curriculum, I am committed to staying abreast of the latest educational tools and techniques.
Currently, I serve as a middle school math teacher and provide executive function support, empowering students to excel academically and develop vital organizational skills. Residing in The Bronx with my family, including my three young children, I embody my dedication to education both in and out of the classroom. Join me on a journey of academic growth and success.
